Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, is the governing body for conducting the counseling process within Andhra Pradesh. Within the state, 15% of All India Quota counseling is conducted by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), whereas the rest 85% is conducted by the state governing body. After the declaration of NEET score, the governing body conducts the counseling for the eligible students.
There are around 4000 MBBS seats and 1600 BDS seats in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The counseling is conducted in the medical colleges on the basis of the scores secured in NEET UG examination. There are two rounds of counseling in the state of Andhra Pradesh. After two rounds of counseling, the governing body conducts a mop up round to fill up the vacant seats of the colleges.

Eligibility Criteria
- Only the citizens of India or Person of Indian Origin are eligible for the counseling procedure. Also the overseas citizen of Indian (card holder) is also eligible for the MBBS/BDS courses in the state.
- 17 years is the minimum age of the candidates to take the admission in the medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
- The candidates also have to provide a proper domicile certificate of the state to prove its local/non local status during the time of counseling.
- Under the presidential order the candidates should come under the definition of local candidates during the time of counseling.
- Either the parents of the candidates or the candidates themselves have to stay within the state with a minimum period of total ten years.
- Either of the parents of the candidates has to work under the state government or the central government, or educational institutions or public sector or any other institution within the state.
- The spouse of the candidate has to work under the state government or the central government, or educational institutions or public sector or any other institution within the state.
The eligibility criteria for the students appearing for 85% state quota counseling. The students have to follow certain clauses
- The candidate should complete his schooling from an institution located within the state
- A minimum stay of four consecutive years is required for the candidates before appearing for the examination
- If the candidate has studied for seven consecutive years in two or more different local areas, then the place where the candidate has spent the most years is considered to be the residential area
- If the candidate has stayed an equal number of year in two or more local areas, the place where the candidate has spent the last year is considered to be the period of stay
Apart from this the candidates should pass class 12 examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English from a recognized board of education. To be eligible for the examination, the unreserved category candidate must secure 50% marks while that of PH category and reserved category (SC/ST?OBC) candidates must have secured 40%.

Reservation Policy
- In Government or Government supported Medical or Dental colleges, the admission will be taken under two segregates- 15% All India Quota Seats and 85% State Quota Seats. DGHS will conduct the counseling process of 15% All India Quota seats while the state governing body will conduct the counseling for the rest 85% of the seats on the basis of reservation.
- In Private medical or dental colleges, the seats will be divided homogenously into 50% for State Quota and 50% for Management quota. Within this 50% state quota seats, the admissions will be done following the reservation policy of the state.

Application Form
The candidates who want to get into MBBS and BDS courses from government and private colleges in Andhra Pradesh need to fill the NEET counseling form Andhra Pradesh. You need to fill the counseling application form on the official website of Dr. NTR UHS. The NEET counseling application fees for NEET MBBS Andhra Pradesh counseling is Rs. 3540 for OC & BC, and for SC/ST candidates, it is Rs. 2950. You need to pay this application fee online with debit, credit, net banking.
Step 1: Visit the official NTRUHS application page at apmedadm.ntruhs.ap.gov.in.
Step 2: Go to “Admission for AP MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BNYS/BUMS/BHMS competent authority quota 2021”
Step 3: You will be redirected to the login or register page.
Step 4: If you register for the first time, you need to go to “Candidate Registration.” While completing the registration, you need to enter your NEET roll number, rank, date of birth, and mobile number. Once you have successfully registered, then you will receive a registration number and a security pin.
Step 5: If you have already registered, you need to do “candidate login.” You must enter your NEET 2021 roll number, the generated registration number, and the security PIN.
Step 6: Once you have logged in, you must enter your academic details like class 10 marks, 12 marks, NEET 2021 marks and ranks, your address for verification.
Step 7: After filling in all the details, go to “Save and Pay” and proceed to NEET 2021 counseling application fees payment.
Step 8: Make the payment by choosing your choice of online payment from the options mentioned on the screen.
Step 9: The filled application form will come on the screen. You need to download and save it for future use.

NEET Merit List: Andhra Pradesh
Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences will publish the merit list of the qualified candidates. The candidates who will register online for the counseling process are the only eligible one for 85% state quota counseling. As per the secured ranks, the governing body will conduct the counseling process of the candidates. After the declaration of NEET UG merit list, the candidates will be eligible to appear for the state quota counseling. The state quota merit list will be available online it also includes the candidate’s name, father’s name, category, NEET roll, NEET marks and State merit rank.

Tie breaking criteria
There are many students who appear for the counseling with similar marks. The counseling authority follows different parameters for tie breaking purpose
- The candidates who have higher marks in Biology will get preference
- If a tie exists till then candidates who have higher marks in chemistry will get preference
- The candidates with older age will get preference as a final resolve
NEET counseling 2021
The admissions to MBBS/BDS are made through the MCC counseling process based on the NEET UG score. Candidates who qualify for the NEET exam can also apply for NEET admission to medical colleges. The NEET-UG counseling process is based on the All India Quota, State Quota, and Deemed Universities.
Process of NEET counseling in Andhra Pradesh

Online Registration: The interested candidates have to register online by filling up necessary details in the official website of the governing authority. The candidates will get respective registration number after the completion of the process.
Counseling Fee (Irrespective of Categories) every candidate has to pay Rs 5000 as the counseling fee
Merit List declaration: The list of the eligible candidates will be displayed online in the official website
Verification of Documents: in the next step, the counseling authority will verify every document of the eligible candidate. After the verification session, the candidates will get a scheduled date for the counseling
Choice filling: In this step, the candidates have to fill up choices where they want to join as a medical student. As per the secured NEET score, the seats will be allotted to the candidate.
Reporting: On the scheduled date the candidates have to report to the venue on scheduled time as referred in the official website. Rs. 5000 (non refundable fee) will be paid to the counseling authority in the form of Demand Draft issued in the name of “Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences” from any nationalized bank.
Seat Allotment: There will be three rounds of counseling- First Round, Second Round and Mop Up round. The merit list of the eligible candidates will be published in the official website.
Admission: On the day of selection, the selected candidates have to pay the required amount of fees to the college authority. If the candidate fails to complete the payment of fees, then the seat will be cancelled down by the authority.
